Emergency admission

If you need urgent medical assistance, you can go to our emergency department 24/7.

• When do I end up in the emergency department?

  You will end up in the emergency department when you need acute help. This can be after an ambulance call, after a referral from your GP or on your own initiative.

• How do I reach the emergency department?

  Are you coming by car? Then you can reach our emergency department most easily via Hendrik Consciencestraat, a side street of Naamsestraat.

  During your stay at our emergency department you can park in the emergency parking on our site.

• What documents should I bring with me?
  • Your (electronic) identity card
  • A certificate or referral from your GP, if you have one
  • A list of medications you are taking at home
  • Insurance certificates in the event of an occupational accident

• Can someone accompany me?

  Just like in the rest of the hospital, one helper is allowed in our emergency department. Please note that our emergency department can quickly become busy and that your helper may be asked to wait outside.

• Why do I have to wait so long?

  Just like in other hospitals, we use a triage system in our emergency department. This video explains how that works.
